Racecourse Features and Location
Aintree, home of the John Smith's Grand National, is arguably the most famous racecourse in the world. The sheer romance of the most talked-about, magical race – the Grand National – there is no other race quite like it. The last 2 years have seen £35m invested into a radical redevelopment project, which includes the building of two new grandstands and a new International Equestrian Centre, Parade Ring, Weighing Room and Winner's Enclosure. Due to be completed in 200, Aintree will offer first class facilities and an unrivalled friendly approach to customer care. Over the three day Grand National meeting, Aintree attracts over 150,000 racegoers into the North West region as well as delivery the race to over 130 countries worldwide.
How to get to Aintree..
By Car.. Aintree is on the A59, just 6 miles from Liverpool City Centre. The M57 and M58 are 1 mile away, with links to the M62 and M6.
By Train... Liverpool Lime Street Station is Liverpool’s mainline train station. Liverpool Central Station is a 5 minute walk from Lime Street, where trains run regularly to Aintree Station.
By Air... Manchester and Liverpool Airports are just 40 minutes away.
Parking... Up to 4,000 vehicles can park free of charge at the Brookfield School Park and Ride for the Grand National Meeting. The Park and Ride can be located off the M57, Junction 6. For meetings outside of the Grand Naitonal, free on course parking is available.
Security... The site is completely enclosed and security patrols operate from dusk until dawn.
