Racecourse Features and Location

Huntingdon Racecourse is a flat, right-handed circuit of approximately 1 mile 3 furlongs which provides excellent viewing. There are nine fences to a circuit, the open ditch in front of the grandstand providing a real spectacle. Huntingdon’s free draining nature often provides good ground and this coupled with the lack of undulations tends to favour the speedier type of horse as there is not such an emphasis on stamina. Bold jumping front runners tend to do well here in particular.

Huntingdon Racecourse is situated half a mile off the A1, on the A14, the A1/M1 link road that joins the M11 at Cambridge. This allows easy access from the West Midlands and the East Coast, as well as for visitors from both the North and South. Huntingdon Railway Station is on the main line from London Kings Cross and is approximately one and a half miles from the Racecourse.

The Racecourse enjoys ample car and coach parking and is well sign-posted from all directions. Helicopters are asked to contact the Racecourse Office before arrival.

A FREE Shuttle service operates on racedays between the Racecourse and Huntingdon Train Station. The service runs from the station-racecourse for two hours prior to the start of racing and racecourse-station from half an hour either side of the last race. Times may vary for evening meetings.

Race Sponsorship

Horseracing is a fantastic way to promote your business through exposure to the public via media coverage. Sponsorship of horseracing is one of the most productive marketing methods available to businesses today. Combined with Corporate Hospitality, advertising and promotions are unrivalled methods of channeling company expenditure in an exciting, unforgettable and illustrious way: thus generating maximum benefit for your company.

Extensive Media Coverage
Horseracing receives more national television coverage than any other sport and receives 40% of the sports pages in the press.

Large Audiences
Both On Course, off Course & via 8,500 Betting Shops. A majority of our 18 race meetings per year are covered by SIS  and are televised live to between 1/2-2 million of the nations betting shop customers. Racing UK a digital channel partly owned by the racecourse also covers a majority of our meetings.

Prestigious Focal Point for Corporate Marketing
The most popular form of corporate hospitality is Horseracing.

Outstanding Raceday Promotional Opportunities
Competitions and promotional displays have proved effective in securing greater company exposure and awareness.

Universal Appeal
The range of companies that sponsor horseracing reflects the breadth of the audience that can be reached. It is surprising how little it costs to sponsor a race and Huntingdon offers a most attractive fixture list.
