Racecourse Features and Location
If you're looking for a raceday packed with sheer excitement and spectacle and supported by first class facilities then look no further.
Boasting a pedigree of over 130 years, Redcar offers action packed meetings each year from Easter through to mid October. Highlights include The Zetland Gold Cup on Whit Monday, the £200,000 totepool Two Year Old Trophy in early October and the season long Straight Mile Championship Series. In addition we have Ladies Day in June, Family Day in July and Party Night in August.
The Racecourse is situated in the town of Redcar on the Cleveland Coast and is only 5 miles away from Middlesborough.
How to get to us:
By Road: Redcar Racecourse is readily accessible by road with links via the A174, A66 and A1085.
By Rail: Redcar Railway Station is only a few minutes walk from the racecourse and is served well by a regular service linking the main East Coast Line.
By Air: Durham Tees Valley Airport is only a 20 minute drive away, providing regular scheduled services to London Heathrow and beyond.
Race Sponsorship
At Redcar we pride ourselves on being able to put together a customised package that will suit the specific needs of our commercial partner. Below we list some of the items that you may feel are appropriate but as ever the real issue is in identifying the best mix from the perspective of both your own business needs and objectives and within a budget!
The race title is the most obvious place to start. This affords extensive coverage across virtually all local and national newspapers - and by no means just in the Racing Post. Furthermore the race will, as a minimum, be covered by the bespoke Racing UK TV Channel (50,000 subscribers) and some races also feature on Channel 4.
The sponsor can pick and choose precisely the sort of additional exposure that they require either on the day or during the build up to the meeting. These options include:
- Unlimited banner locations on the Racecourse creating awareness to our daily racegoers and to television viewers.
- Full page racecard advertisement - an ideal opportunity to promote and increase awareness of your product to our racing spectators who attend from many areas of the country.
- Credits on the Racecourse public address system and through on-course TV coverage broadcast your message and logo over the entire Racecourse.
- Trade stand or promotional vehicle - bring along a trade stand to encourage enquiries and distribute literature.
- Presentation of the Winner's Trophy - this excellent photo opportunity is a fantastic way to treat your best clients or Directors to a special moment and meet the winning owner, trainer and jockey.
- Best turned out horse - this is a chance to get your guests involved and present the groom of the best turned out horse with a small company memento or cash prize.
However of all the various ways of maximizing the effectiveness of your day surely corporate hospitality offers the greatest appeal. As a minimum a race meeting will extend over six races which means that you and your clients (including lunch) will be together for at least 4 hours. The very nature of the sport allows plenty of time when attention is not concentrated on a single event (like football) and when conversation can flow freely.
Race sponsorship really is great value; media evaluations prove time and again that the resultant publicity far exceeds the cost. Sponsorship packages start from £1,000 + VAT.
