Newmarket Racecourse Odds Betting Sites

Newmarket Racecourse, otherwise known as Headquarters’ has the largest area of cultivated heathland in the world. It comprises of 2 courses, The Rowley Mile and The July Course. It’s also the home of the oldest horseracing institution in the world, ‘The Jockey Club’.

A special anniversary was celebrated in 2016, and it was 350 years since the Newmarket Town Plate was first to run in October 1666. The yearly Town Plate race was also particular for another reason, as it was the first race to run by a set of official rules and not rules that were made up locally.

The rules were set out by King Charles II, on 16TH October 1665. It’s considered that all modern horse racing dates from this time, over 350 years ago.

Newmarket is a flat only course and is home to the famous 1000 and 2000 guineas. Both ran over the Rowley Mile. The July Course is host to 2 group 1 races, which are The July Cup and The Falmouth Stakes.

If you want to be close to the action and see your horse gallop past the winning post, then you’d be best served in the premier enclosure. Access to the pre-parade ring and winners enclosure and fantastic views from the grandstand, make this a choice of many. There is a number of bars and restaurants, including the popular Moet and Chandon Champagne Bar (July Course only) and the Bistro Bar on the Rowley Mile Course.

If you fancy a great day without the frills of the Premier Enclosure, then why not try the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure. With unbiased views and also access to the pre-parade ring, parade ring and winners enclosure, this is great for a more relaxed atmosphere. There are plenty of bars and food stalls to choose from.

Fancy a picnic at the races? Then the Garden Enclosure should be your ideal place. With children’s play areas on both courses, as well as limited food stalls bars and limited betting opportunities, this makes for a more relaxed day for all the family. Note, this enclosure has restricted viewing as it sits between the two and 1-furlong pole. It also has no access to the pre-parade ring, parade ring, or winners enclosure. Most of the racing can only be seen on the large screen from here…

Although there is no dress code in these enclosures, you rarely see jeans in the Premier Enclosure.

Disabled access is available at both courses. Designated parking, toilets, and raised viewing access. Ample free car parking is available on both courses.
