He later joined the stable of David O’Meara and won his first Group race aboard Blue Bajan in the Group 2 Henry II Stakes at Sandown in 2011. The following season he won the Bet365 Mile and the Joel Stakes on stable flagbearer Penitent.

He won both races again with Custom Cut and made the breakthrough at Group 1 level with G Force in the 2014 Haydock Sprint Cup.

He later added the Prix de l’Abbaye aboard Move In Time.

Daniel Tudhope’s Most Famous Victories

The Haydock Sprint Cup victory on G Force will always be a fond memory for Tudhope, his first victory at the highest level. David O’Meara’s talented sprinter had shown promising form behind Take Cover at York and Sandown before finishing an unlucky sixth in the Nunthorpe Stakes. Tudhope produced his mount with a perfectly timed challenge at the furlong pole to beat Gordon Lord Byron by three-quarters of a length.

Laurens was one of the most popular mares in training. Karl Burke’s daughter of Siyouni finished runner-up in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket before winning twice in France.

Tudhope rode her to win the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown before following up in the Sun Chariot Stakes. He needed to be at his strongest to repel the persistent challenge of Happily by a head.

As the Co-Founder of British Racecourses, I love the chance to share my enjoyment of racing with others. As a family, we have always loved the racing and went to Haydock races as kids, as often as we could. We are now lucky enough to own some fantastic racehorses who we will follow around the tracks and we have had some great wins. As part of British Racecourses, I enjoy visiting and reviewing the racecourses that we visit, all of which I think have something to offer and are brilliant in their own ways.
