Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the most popular questions we get asked:

How Many Coral Betting Shops Are There in The UK?

There are over 4,000 Coral shops in Britain alone. This shows that Coral are well established on the high street. They also have strong online betting platforms too, ranging from sports betting to bingo and casino games.

When placing a bet you want to be assured that the company you place it with has a heritage, stability and the respect of its customers – which they do.

With Coral you get exactly that; a company that has over fifty years experience in bookmaking, but has also continued to develop with the times and is a market leader in the technology that allows bets to be placed in an ever more convenient fashion.

After half a century they are still a leading name in the bookmaking market and continue to expand rapidly.

What Is The Opening Times of Coral?

So, you’ve found the ‘nearest Coral bookies to me’ and you now want to know the opening times. Well firstly, follow our link which gives you bespoke information for that store, otherwise, the opening times will vary from store to store depending on a few factors.

The location and positions of the shop could play a role, if say, it is in a shopping centre or managed area, it would probably be different from a high street store’s opening hours. As a general guide, most Coral shops tend to open between 8:30 and 9:00am and close at around 9:30 or 10 o’clock. Bank Holidays and Sunday trading hours may also differ from store to store.

Is Coral Open on Sunday?

It may surprise you to learn that bookies opening times on a Sunday are not as restrictive as other shops, like supermarkets.

Whereas supermarkets are only allowed to open for around six hours on a Sunday, bookmakers are exempt from this and generally trade for as many hours as they do from Monday through to Saturday. This is great as some of the major racing events are actually held on Sundays, as well as other sporting events (such as football), that you may want to bet on.

Opening times can and will vary due to location, but the majority of Coral stores open as normal at 9am on a Sunday. Some close around six o’clock, but some do stay open even longer and only close at around 9:30pm.

Are Local Betting Shops Good?

Certainly, they are not like they used to be in years past, the old-fashioned betting shop didn’t have a great reputation, however,  they have had something of a regeneration over the last decade and are certainly brighter, cleaner and more welcoming than before.

With betting options in shops diverse, offering a full range of sports, casino, games, slots, poker, bingo, lotto and many more, your choices on how and what to put a bet on are wider than ever, it, therefore, attracts more wide-ranging and diverse visitors.

Maybe people enjoy visiting their local bookmaker, not just to use it as a place to bet and watch the racing but it gives them a social angle; somewhere to meet other people who share a passion for racing, have refreshments whilst they read today’s racecards and tomorrow’s racecards, chat with the cashiers or enjoy some time to themselves.

In light of that, we think that a local bookmaker is important and that they shouldn’t be vilified, as is often the case by the media. As long as people bet with their means and enjoy themselves it can be a very satisfying way to spend some free time.
