Willie Mullins Best Cheltenham Bets

Willie Mullins is one of the most famous and successful National Hunt trainers in the world. It is, therefore, no surprise that he is the ante-post favourite to be the top trainer at the Cheltenham Festival.

Due to the fact he has so many good horses, punters are always excited to know his bet chances for the week. And for many punters, Willie Mullins is the banker of the week to land the prestigious Champion Trainer accolade at the Festival for the sixth time.

So, will the Cheltenham runners from the Willie Mullins racing yard show the British horses a clean pair of heels?

We pick out the Willie Mullins best Cheltenham bets:

2022 Cheltenham Festival Best Chances for Willie Mullins

Here are the best chances and picks from the Willie Mullins yard for Cheltenham Festival 2022.

10. Kilcruit (Supreme Novice Hurdle)

Kilcruit is a seven-year-old who bids to follow stablemate Appreciate It who won the Supreme Novices Hurdle last year very easily.

Currently 9-1 on the ante-post betting market you can place your bets each way and still win money if Kilcruit gets a place.

Many of the Irish Cheltenham tipsters are putting up Kilcruit in their ante-post tips as having a great chance at a big price.

9. Facile Vega (The Champion Bumper)

Facile Vega is the son of the mightly mare Quevega, a Cheltenham legend in her own right, who won the Mares Hurdles 4 times.

Her son has continued her legacy with two stunning wins already and looks nap material in The Champion Bumper.

Willie Mullins said about Facile Vega:

“He’s even better than I thought he was. He looks the real deal.”

8. Appreciate It (The Champion Hurdle)

Appreciate It is an eight-year-old and has not been seen since his scintillating 24-length success over the same course and distance in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the 2021 Festival.

Willie Mullins is confident Appreciate It is firing on all cylinders and ready to take on Honeysuckle in the Cheltenham Champion Hurdle.

Mullins said during a press visit to his yard.

“Appreciate It looks to be in great form at home. I had him away for a gallop last week and I was very, very happy with him – he galloped very well,”

7. Klassical Dream (Stayers Hurdle)

With a superb comeback run, it has primed Klassical Dream to be well prepared for the Cheltenham Stayers Hurdle. He is a horse with a touch of class. With Mullins have such strength and depth in the department he is sure to go very close. Similar to multiple winner Big Bucks, Klassical Dream’s chasing dreams are being put on hold.

Mullins recently had this to say about him:

“He was brilliant when he came back, much better than I expected. I had in mind we were going to go chasing with him and have to reflect now and say the three mile staying hurdle route is a very viable option for him at this stage.”

6. Galopin Des Champs (Turners Novices Chase)

Willie Mullins prefers Galopin Des Champs over the shorter distance in the Turner Novices Chase and will mean taking on the talented Bob Olinger. Galopin put up a stunning performance at Leopardstown on his last run, jumping and galloping his rival into the ground.

Willie recently said on his stable tour:

“I’d be happy enough I think to go in the Turners over two and a half. I think he has the ability to do that, he jumps well and he’s sharp.”

His jumping is excellent and looks like a real National Hunt star.

5. Elimay (Mares Chase)

The consistent mare has some strong form next to her name and was second in this Mares Chase last year.

Jumping beautifully en route to success at Naas she is expected to go close again this year and looks a solid option in an open race.

“Elimay is going to the Mares’ Chase and we put cheekpieces on her last time. She jumped really well in those so she might stick with those and maybe be more prominent riding her, we’ll see. She’s in good form.”

4. Billaway (Hunters Chase)

A bridesmaid twice at the Cheltenham Festival Billaway is ready to take gold this year.

With an easy win at Naas this year if he reproduces either of his two previous outings in this contest for amateur riders, then he will go close again.

He wore cheekpieces for the first time on his latest start and that could be the catalyst to improvement this year.

Patrick Mullins gets on well with the horse and feels this year with him in the saddle and cheekpieces on it will transform him to win the fabulous trophy.

3. Chacun Pour Soi (Champion Chase)

The Champion Chase is going to be very difficult to beat Shishkin.

But what was interesting is Willie Mullins preferred the chances of Chacun Pour Soi over his stablemate Energumene to upset Shishkin.

Here Willie’s thoughts on his Champion Chase prospect:

“I’d be a Chacun Pour Soi fan every day of the week. I don’t know what way Paul [Townend] is leaning. It’s going to be hard to turn around the Shishkin form with Energumene, so maybe he should play the other card if we can get your man there in the order I want him to be in.”

The Queen Mother Champion Chase is going to be a thrilling race and one many horse racing fans are the most excited to see.

The horse they all have to beat is Nicky Hendersons Cheltenham Banker in the unbeaten Shishkin.

2. Allaho (Ryanair Chase)

The high-class chaser Allaho produced one of the performances of the Cheltenham Festival last year when making all in the Ryanair Chase.

Mullins believes Allaho is one of his best chances of the week here to defend his title:

“It looks like the Ryanair and he’s in great shape and doing well. He’d be the first one that comes to mind for me as the banker for us and I’d be very disappointed if he doesn’t run a really good race.”

1. Brandy Love (The Mares Novices Hurdle)

Recently hearing Willie Mullins being bullish about Brandy Love you need to be taking note.

In her last race, she badly jumped left and hung left with the jockey saying she was pulling all the way around the circuit.

Now tackling the left-handed track at Cheltenham Racecourse she is the banker of the meeting for many horse racing tipsters in the Mares Novices Hurdle.

The trainer quotes is a good source to find any hints on any knocks, injuries or setbacks during the work from home training on the gallops.

Listening to the trainer’s thoughts on which races they are preferring the horse to go for is important for ante-post betting markets.

Jockey Feedback

Previous jockeys who have ridden the horses sometimes provide quotes and inside information on how the horse will perform at Cheltenham.
